 |  Dr. Shidram Kamate  |  0 Views

Anemia remains one of the most common and clinically significant complications of chronic kidney disease (CKD), requiring timely diagnosis and individualized management. Evidence-based consensus recommendations emphasize standardized yet flexible clinical practice tailored to regional healthcare needs. Key recommendations include diagnostic criteria, stage-specific screening and monitoring, optimal hemoglobin targets, assessment of iron deficiency using transferrin saturation (TSAT) and ferritin, and appropriate iron replacement strategies. The recommendations also highlight the role of erythropoiesis-stimulating agents and hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase inhibitors in selected patients. Overall, these recommendations aim to optimize anemia management, improve cardiovascular outcomes, and enhance quality of life in patients with CKD.[1][2]
